
USAR Pods and Equipment Main Page
The Urban Search and Rescue Modules carry the equipment required by the teams and number five in total broadly as follows:
Module 1: Light Rescue Equipment for support in early stages of an incident.
Module 2: Heavy Rescue. Containing equipment for use at a major transport incident.
Module 3: Medium Rescue equipment including timber shoring, power generation and lights, large capacity air lift systems etc.
Module 4: Open based unit based on a standard ISO Container used to carry the "Multi Purpose Vehicle" and can also be used as a "tipper" unit for movement of debris.
Module 5: This is a flat bed unit used to carry timber.
Multi Purpose Vehicle: Carried on Module 4, the MPV is 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer. It has a hydraulic arm at the front and a rear load bed with tipping facility.
