The Medium Volume Pumping Unit/Hose Laying Lorry.
This vehicle replaces the one that was based at Wigston Station for many years.
It is based on a Scania chassis and has a gross weight of 26000Kg, and a 12 litre 340 HP Euro 4 engine.
The main piece of equipment is the Hydra Sub 60 Diesel powered hydraulic pump which is capable of delivering 4000 litres at 12 bar over 2 kilometres through 150mm hose.
The hose is contained in two vehicle mounted boxes that can be deployed using the HIAB crane mounted to the front of the chassis and the vehicle engine powered retrieval system can operate from either side of the appliance.
