UPDATE OCTOBER 2009
A new Water Carrier has been commisioned by the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, soon to go on the run at Loughborough Fire Station.
This vehicle is a Scania P340 registration number FJ59 BBF, the tanker made by Whale Tankers, for more detailed specification see below pictures:

Scania P340, Rigid 3 axle, rear steer, 12 litre 340BHP engine
14000 litre capacity tank that will contain 12000 litres of water and 1000 litres of foam in 2 split compartments (can be interconnected). Two anti-surge baffles within water compartment.
Filling time of 7 to 10 minutes through 2 hydrant connections (1400 to 2000 litres per minute) depending on mains pressure.
Hose reels (nearside and offside) are free wheel off and hydraulic rewind with 25m of light duty 4 inch suction hoses in 5 x 5m lengths.
Two 8000 litre inflatable dams will be carried.
